GHANA’S HIGH COMMISSIONER H.E. MRS. SABAH ZITA BENSON SHINES AS A BEACON OF DIASPORA ENGAGEMENT AND ECONOMIC DIPLOMACY

In a remarkable display of proactive leadership, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, H.E. Mrs. Sabah Zita Benson, has once again proven herself as a dynamic advocate for both national development and diaspora empowerment. On Friday, March 27, 2026, she led a strategic visit to Ghanaian-owned businesses in the London Borough of Southwark an initiative that deserves the highest praise for its vision, collaboration, and tangible impact.

Accompanied by Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, High Commissioner Benson walked the ground with purpose, directly engaging entrepreneurs to understand their challenges and opportunities. This was not a ceremonial stroll; it was a hands-on diplomatic mission to strengthen ties with the Ghanaian diaspora, foster local enterprise development, and explore how these businesses can become key partners in Ghana’s growth story.

What sets H.E. Mrs. Benson apart is her ability to turn dialogue into action. The visit was a collaboration with Southwark Council, and under her guidance, a roundtable discussion organized by local Ghanaian Labour councillors focused on trade and community advancement. Meetings with council leadership explored concrete institutional partnerships, showing her commitment to building bridges, not just making speeches.

This engagement was part of a broader early 2026 strategy to boost economic diplomacy and mobilize diaspora capital, following a business breakfast on January 26, 2026. High Commissioner Benson is not waiting for change she is leading it. Her hands-on, business-friendly, and community-centered approach is exactly what Ghana needs. We salute her vision, her energy, and her unwavering dedication to lifting Ghanaian enterprises at home and abroad.
